The ABA Provides Many Opportunities for Members to Make a Difference

The success of the Arkansas Bankers Association depends on the collaboration with our members. In an effort to truly represent the industry, and address the concerns of our members, the ABA strives to work hand-in-hand with our bankers. We encourage you to participate in ABA events, take advantage of our services, and let your voice be heard. Below are just a few of the opportunities that are available to you.

Join one of the ABA’s committees

Our committees are comprised of bankers with varying ranges of expertise and tenure to ensure a true cross-section of participation across Arkansas. These committees help keep us abreast of emerging issues and concerns, and work to find solutions and resources to address those matters. We have standing committees for Education, Trust & Wealth Management and Agriculture. The Executive Committee oversees the management of the Association and acts as the Government Relations Committee. As the need arises, special committees are formed for topics such as Compliance, Human Resources, Agri Lending, Security and Technology.

Invest in Your Team

Stay informed on where the industry is headed and alerted to the challenges and opportunities by attending, and sending your staff, to ABA’s premier Professional Development programs. Among our most sought-after events are the ABA Annual Convention, Bank Management Seminar and Emerging Leaders Conference. Additionally, we offer training for Bank Directors, Senior Lending staff, Human Resources personnel, Compliance Officers, and much more.

The ABA offers educational opportunities to meet the needs of your staff, regardless of their function or seniority. From entry level bankers to well seasoned professionals, there are opportunities to continue building your career.

Attend Grassroots Meetings

The political process directly affects the banking industry. You, your career, and the banking profession in general is impacted by the rules made by politicians. As an ABA member, you have a unique opportunity to shape your own future by getting involved in Grassroots Meetings.

Be Heard

Help our banking industry be heard, both in Little Rock and in Washington, D.C.  By making contributions to the ABA PACs, you can help ensure the passage of laws that help our industry and our state’s economy, rather than hurt them.

Participate

Our members have the opportunity to participate in meetings with their federal regulators and national elected officials during our Annual Visit to Washington. Every banker who participates plays an integral role in educating our regulators and our congressional delegation on the issues affecting our industry.
