This seminar explores a number of traditional audit approaches which can be used for evaluating many of the less technical information technology controls. Proper use of the auditor’s existing knowledge and skills may help increase the comfort level of management and the board of directors. Financial auditors sometimes avoid information technology (EDP) audit issues because they feel they do not have appropriate knowledge and training; however, the obligation to review this important area remains. Attendees will learn how to conduct non-technical portions of required IT audits.
