Government Relations is at the forefront of the services we provide to our membership; we understand that lawmakers and regulatory agencies have the power to shape the future of banking in Arkansas . Therefore, there are few tasks we take as seriously as advocating for public policy that is in the best interest of Arkansas ’ bankers and we remain intensely focused on protecting this industry.

| Legislative Lunches |
|
|
|
Prior to each regular session of the Arkansas General Assembly, the ABA hosts lunches around the state and invites area legislators and bankers. This affords a great opportunity for bankers to meet new legislators and reinforce existing relationships with sitting members of the House and Senate.

Capitol Hill Visit
Each fall we sponsor a trip to our nation’s Capitol where we meet with the Arkansas Congressional Delegation and as many regulators as time permits.

ABPAC is the bipartisan federal political action committee of the Arkansas Bankers Association. Incorporated in June of 1997, ABPAC was created as a means to unite bankers in providing a strong political voice for bankers in the state of Arkansas . ABPAC provides financial support, through contributions, to the campaigns of candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives who advocate a free and competitive marketplace. Since its initiation, ABPAC has been successful in addressing many banking issues in the political spectrum.
ABPAC is prohibited from soliciting contributions from employees of institutions that have not authorized such solicitation. |

The STATE BANK PACs are the bipartisan state political actions committees of the Arkansas Bankers Association. These four PACs are organized by region and are called:
ABA Group 1 PAC, ABA Group 2 PAC, ABA Group 3 PAC and ABA Group 4 PAC
To see which group you are in click here to view the Group Map.
Each state PAC makes donations to pro-banking candidates for state and local office. The STATE BANK PACs were established in May of 2000 in recognition of the fact that our industry is greatly affected by decisions made on the state and local level as well as in Washington
