Senate Panel to Vote on ABA-Backed Reg Reform Bill Tomorrow

December 4, 2017

The Senate Banking Committee is expected to vote on S. 2155, the bipartisan regulatory reform bill championed by Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and a group of moderate Democrats on the committee. The bill includes several provisions that are part of ABA's Blueprint for Growth and is expected to clear the committee easily thanks to its robust bipartisan support.

The Senate panel will also vote on Jerome Powell's nomination as Federal Reserve chairman tomorrow. Meanwhile, the House Financial Services Committee will hold hearings on sustainable housing finance reform on Wednesday and on legislative regulatory reform proposals and on the Office of Financial Research on Thursday.

The full House is scheduled to begin the process of setting up a conference committee to reconcile the House and Senate's tax reform bills.
