Brock Ferguson is Vice President of Commercial Lending for Centennial Bank in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
My job duties include being responsible for managing a loan portfolio by extending credit set forth by bank policy, and then ensuring those credits are properly maintained, serviced, and monitored.
What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?
“Be willing to do the things that others are not willing to do” – this was a quote that I recently saw in print. It resonated with me as I reflected on my childhood and adolescence in that this is the motto that was instilled in me without ever really having it voiced to me in as many words. It still rings very clear to this day.
What does effective leadership look like to you?
It’s simple – “leading by example.” I try to set a good example for anyone that I am tasked and honored to lead, from a fellow employee to my own children. Those people’s watchful eyes are on you at all times and could shape behaviors for years to come.
