ELS Spotlight With Tatum Holt

Tatum Holt is a Mortgage Loan Originator for Centennial Bank in Russellville, Arkansas.

As a Mortgage Loan Originator, I have the pleasure of helping individuals during the process of buying a home. I am there from the moment they apply and become prequalified until the loan closes. I also help current homeowners with refinancing to receive a lower rate/term or to tap into the home’s equity. The home-buying/refinancing process can be overwhelming and stressful so it’s my mission to ensure that it goes as smooth as possible.

What does effective leadership look like to you?

To me, effective leadership should be composed of many qualities. Taking initiative, being organized and innovation are some key qualities to have. Effective leaders should value ethics and be able to have open and honest communication with their peers.

How has leadership changed in 2021?

Everything is constantly changing, especially in the banking industry and with a pandemic. With everything going on in the world over the past couple of years, we have had to adapt quickly. Schedules and work environments had to be more flexible. In our leadership roles, we have had to learn to become more understanding, concerned and considerate. If we have learned anything during this time, it’s that you never know what someone is truly going through and we have to be mindful of their physical health as well as mental health.

What is the most effective daily habit you possess?

The most effective daily habit that I possess would be to have a sense of purpose and to never forget your responsibility. With this job, my main purpose is to help people purchase a home. It could be their first home or their forever home, and it is so rewarding to be able to be there every step of the way.

The ELS Spotlight is an ongoing series to highlight our Emerging Leaders from around Arkansas.
