As a Commercial Loan officer, I develop new and service existing loan relationships. I evaluate customer loan requests while incorporating our Bank Better values, culture and brand promise.

What is the most important leadership lesson that you’ve learned?

Quality over Quantity truly does go a long way. If this last year and a half has taught me anything (thanks to Covid and having a baby) it is to slow down. People want to feel like they are more than just a number or a transaction. Also, it never hurts to ask. The answer may be no, but you will at least have an answer.

What’s your biggest leadership struggle?

Remembering that I too was once just starting out and not everyone learns or even does a certain thing the same way. Everyone is different and that is what makes this world a great place.

What is the most effective daily habit you possess?

My most effective daily habit is getting up early before my husband and son and having “me time.” This could be me going to the gym for a quick workout or just enjoying a cup of coffee before the hustle and bustle of the day starts. I love mornings but I am not a great morning person, I need time.

What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?

You don’t always have to say yes and when you say no, you don’t always have to give a reason. When you do say yes, show up and on time. (Thanks Mom)

What does effective leadership look like to you?

Effective leadership is someone that is able to lead within. If it is needed, they will be able to jump in with you and help accomplish the goal. They are also approachable, authentic and aware of what is going on in their organization.

How has leadership changed in 2021?

Leadership in 2021 has caused leaders to be more flexible and intentional. Work-Life balance is not what it used to be, leadership has be in tune with their employees’ needs not only for employee growth but also retention.

The ELS Spotlight is an ongoing series to highlight our Emerging Leaders from around Arkansas.
