Consumer Lending Compliance
9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Consumer Lending – Non-Real Estate
This presentation will cover non-real estate consumer lending requirements in Regulation Z including open-end disclosures, billing error notices, student lending, and credit cards.

  • Fair Lending
This presentation will cover the CPFB’s fair lending focus as it relates practices, including redlining, marketing discrimination claims, and how it correlates to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Fair Housing Act. It will examine potential COVID-19 concerns as well as end with a discussion on ways your organizations can evaluate and mitigate your risks.

  • Regulation B
Looking beyond the obvious Fair Lending rules, this presentation will get into the nitty-gritty of Regulation B. This includes joint signatures, the valuation rule, when you can and cannot collect GMI and who can be required to sign what documents related to an application for credit.

  • Lending to Servicemembers
Rules related to active duty servicemembers can cause a lot of confusion about who is covered and what protections the borrowers and their dependents have. Attendees will leave this presentation with a comprehensive understanding about the differences between the protections and coverage of the Military Lending Act and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.

  • Regulation O
We will focus: on who really “counts” as an insider – including affiliates, related interests and immediate family members; legal lending limits; executive officer-specific requirements; and how to set up overdrafts for bank insiders within the parameters set by Regulation O. This session will also include frequently asked questions related to bank insiders, best practices, and red flags and include a discussion on the Paycheck Protection Program.

  • FCRA, FACTA and EGRRCPA
This session will cover what is expected of financial institutions when it comes to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, and then the Economic Growth, Reuglatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act. Topics will include affiliate marketing, duties of furnishers of information and obtaining and using consumer reports, risk-based pricing requirements, identity theft and more.
