What is the most important leadership lesson that you’ve learned?
Being a leader means leading by example. You have to be willing to jump in and tackle anything right along with your team. You can’t lead from an office. One of the best leaders I've ever had taught me that and I appreciate it more from her than she'll ever know.
What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?
You can't give from an empty cup. To encourage and uplift you've also got be encouraged and uplifted.
What does effective leadership look like to you?
I think effective leadership will be reflected in your team. They'll have positive morale, they'll work well as a team, and most importantly you'll find the next leaders among them because they've been coached and encouraged to their best selves.
