Shelli Wilson is Vice President, Credit Manager at First Financial Bank in Wynne, Arkansas.

My job responsibilities as VP, Credit Manager (Northeast AR) are to help manage my market’s loan portfolio by making sound credit decisions, while fostering a community banking relationship culture.

What does effective leadership look like to you?

An effective leader leads by example. They’re the same person at work on Monday as they are at church on Sunday. An effective leader recognizes and cultivates talent within their team. They build trust by being honest and supportive in good times and bad.

What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?

If you don’t like something about yourself or your circumstance, you’re the only one who can change it.

What’s your biggest leadership struggle?

The line between being a supervisor and friend is sometimes tough to manage. I want my teammates to be happy and content, but that’s not always realistic.
